Whenever face a issue - “Invert , Always Invert“- Charlie Munger

So what does the Inversion mental model means ?

For example you have a issue that - “You are not getting what all things to look for in a great company/stock ?“

So you can apply here Inversion mental model

Which tells us just Invert the issue . Means ??

In our example of not getting the key USPs to look for in a good company. We will think of all the bad things in a company

What are the bad things in a company ? Things like - Too much loans, Too much diversification not related to core business, promoter pleding etc etc

So suddenly with the help of our Inversion model we aren’t looking for specifically good companies although we are looking for all the bad things in a company and if the company we are studying has this

We can just avoid that company and Move on.

Isn’t this powerful !!!

Lets give you another example from Richer Wiser Happier in which Charlie Munger said instead of looking at all those things which can accelerate the growth of India

We should look at all the things which can stop the growth of India and just not do it

And we are bound to succeed

Lets give you my own example. I wanted to study for an exam so instead of thinking on what all things will help me focus on studies

I listed down all the things which distracted me from studying like - Phone, Laptop, Twitter

And i locked all these things in my cupboard and i could focus on my Studies.
